Murphy’s Laws of TEOTWAWKI
From Wikipedia: Murphy’s Law is an adage that is typically stated as: “Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong”.

It is so hard to get people to plan for emergencies I really quit offering my opinions anymore. Let them starve is my adage now. I'm guessing but we need to get out 3 months after TSHTF to clean out the dead wood of society and after that we can start to rebuild.

The new America???

Tent Cities, Homelessness And Soul-Crushing Despair: The Legacy Of Decades Of Government Debt And Mismanagement Of The Economy

Short quote from article:

"Well, look how all of that turned out. In 1985, the U.S. trade deficit with China was 6 million dollars for the entire year. In the month of August alone, the U.S. trade deficit with China was over 28 billion dollars.

In case you can't figure it out, that means that 28 billion dollars of our national wealth was transferred to China in just one month."

"We are holding our own..."

35 years ago today the Edmund Fizgerald sank with all crew lost. The storm was a massive winter blast that I remember as a kid. On that day we lived on Lake Huron near Oscoda and the waves were hitting the seawall and traveling over the wall to hit the house approximately 75 feet away. Ice formed on the front that was an inch thick by morning.

And for the tune that made the sinking legendary...

FOr me one of those life events you never forget.

Pushing on a string

http://www.oftwominds.com/blogoct10/normalized-pathologies10-10.html

While the American/Western worldview holds that we are autonomous individuals exercising free will at every moment, in reality we are all heavily programmed by our socio-economic class conditions. What is so striking about present-day America is the way in which the narcissistic, no-moral-compass social pathologies of entitlement, denial and fabrication of "truth"/reality has been "normalized" (accepted as normal behavior and thinking) in all social classes.

Charles Hugh Smith has a good piece on the rot in society and why it is so hard to fight against it.

As a parent, it frustrates me to see this mechanism at work while trying to show my children a better way.
